PaSQ, the European Union Network for Patient Safety and Quality of Care aims to promote European cooperation on issues related to quality of health care, including Patient Safety and Patient Involvement. More detailed information about the project can be found at the main page of PaSQ and in the PaSQ-Brochure.
One of the means to achieve this is by selecting, implementing and monitoring Safe Clinical Practices (SCPs) in Health Care Organisations (HCOs) of the participating Member States as it is being conducted in Work Package 5 (WP5) of the project.
The following SCPs will be implemented in European HCOs:
- WHO Surgical Safety Checklist
- Medication Reconciliation
- Multimodal intervention to increase hand hygiene compliance
- Paediatric Early Warning Scores (PEWS)
Click here to view and download a Fact Sheet on Work Package 5, which includes information on how the SCPs were selected.
Here you can find an overview of participating PaSQ Member States and Health Care Organisations which will be implementing the above mentioned SCPs.
Requirements as well as the timeframe relevant for HCOs implementing SCPs can be found on the page: Requirements and Timeframe for HCOs.
For each SCP tool boxes have been developed which offer specific tools like videos, checklists and guidelines etc. that can be used by the HCOs during the implementation process. A big thank you to the team at the Austrian partner organisation GOEG for leading the tasks of collecting and compiling the tools as well as designing the tool boxes!
HCOs which have questions concerning the WP5 implementation of SCPs and the submitted specific tools can get in touch with their PaSQ National Contact Points. The respective contact information can be found here.
