GOP Description
Implementation level
Clinical settings
On different levels in the health care sector.
The database provide health care professionals with easy access to a number of interventions on user involvement. User involvement has a positive effect on patient safety on a individual and organizational level.
Health care professsionals.
It is a digital database with descriptions of hundreds of interventions on user involvement. Danish Knowledge Centre for User Involvement has contacts in all Danish hospitals, from which we receive information about projects about user involvement. These projects are continuously entered into a digital database on our website, with a named personal contact for each project. Health professionals can use the database to get inspiration for methods to increase user involvement, and contact the responsible person to get guidance on how to implement these methods etc.
Timeframe implementation
The primary data collection took approximately a total of 6 months, but it ran over two year (2011 and 2012). Firstly, all Danish hospitals were contacted in order to submit patient involvement practices to the organisation that was responsible for developing the database. The practices were then reviewed after which an external consultancy developed the electronic database and uploaded all the practices. The database has since then been open for hospitals to report on an ongoing basis. In 2015, a secondary data collection is starting where all hospitals are contacted yet again to report new initiatives.

Implementation cost
The price for setting up the electronic database by the external consultancy is unknown.

In first primary data collection period (2011 to 2012) one employee spent approximately 25 hours/ week for 24 weeks. Once the database was set up and hospitals reported practices on an ongoing basis, one employee spent approximately 4 hours/week to run the database.

Method used to measure the results
Employees review the reports as the focus needs to be on patient involvement and the effect of it. However, no proper measurement of reports have been conducted.
The amount of information in each report reports vary – some a long and very detailed, others only a few lines. Each report has a contact person and if users need more information they can contact that person.
Analysis of the results
No proper evaluation has been carried out on how many visitors the webpage has, and if users find it useful. Employees contact the organisations that have made big evaluations and make different themes on website. E.g. a theme about initiatives for relatives.

Each report has a contact person and if users need more information it is up to them to contact that person.
