The Group of standardization of the Spanish Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (SENPE) currently proposed the collection in the form of manual of the different types of formulas for enteral nutrition in the pediatric age group. The manual has been designed in a practical way, with a doctrinal review of the characteristics of each of the types of formulas with reference to the evidence available for use and a detailed listing of existing products on February 28, 2013.
The authors are pediatricians, all of them belonging to the Spanish society of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Pediatric nutrition (SEGHNP) and pharmacists, members of the Spanish society of hospital pharmacy (SEFH), and the final text has been agreed between them.
This document is available in a digital version (has already been updated on 3 occasions since April, 2013 until January 2014) on the web pages of SENPE and SEGHNP. In addition the paper version was launched in January 2014 and it has been distributed among pediatricians and specialists in clinical nutrition by the laboratory that has sponsored the edition. We know that it is very useful and consulted by pediatricians of staff and residents.
We made a doctrinal review of the composition and indications of the different types of formulas. This was referred to all authors to collect suggestions from all of them.
We reviewed all the products referred to in the request of the National Health System (except products of exclusive use for metabolic diseases) and infant formulas of onset of continuation and other areas not funded. We classify them.
We got in touch with all the commercial houses to contrast the information. Repeatedly we checked the different tables.
In addition was an annex for the presentation of all types of formulas funded
Timeframe implementation

Implementation tools available
Printed and electronic material that can be downloaded from SENPE website
User’s survey
Implementation cost
Printing costs, distribution costs have been supported by a commercial laboratory
Method used to measure the results
We designed a survey to ask people who are unloading the document, but it has had little success: we have only received a few surveys.
To evaluate it, we could design a little survey for parents and staff of the hospitals until they know the documents and evaluate them at 6 months but we didn’t yet

Analysis of the results
Not yet available.
Yet we don’t have evaluated this survey. In addition it is recommended to all parents of children with home enteral nutrition: these, verbally, inform us about the usefulness of the guidelines.
The document has been endorsed by SENPE, AEP (Spanish Association of Paediatrics) and SEGHNP (Spanish society of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and nutrition Pediatric).
In the future this document should be reviewed and updated periodically.
