The draft law “On the quality of health care and patient safety” is ready. This week, it was reviewed by the leadership of the Ministry of Health and addressed to internal agreements with a seven-day deadline for comments. Then consult the management of the Ministry of Health again.
At the end of February this year, public consultations on the draft hypotheses for the law on the quality of health care and patient safety were completed. For several months, the ministry analyzed the comments received and prepared a bill.
The project is expected to include, inter alia, the introduction of an authorization system for healthcare facilities, monitoring of adverse events and clinical quality indicators and increasing the relevance of accreditation in the healthcare sector. According to the concept of the Ministry of Health, presented in the hypotheses of the law, hospitals that do not meet the quality conditions will not be able to count on government funding.
The law on the quality of health care replaces the accreditation provisions that were in force until now. As pointed out in the Ministry of Health, the goal is to improve patient safety.
